MUNGI NGOMANE X KATIE NEHRA - S3 EPISODE 3
Mungi Ngomane
The granddaughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, author of Everyday Ubuntu and patron of the Tutu Foundation UK, Mungi has never felt that her family forced her to follow in their footsteps but that their hope for justice and human dignity for all was passed down through her
genes. Her work has centered on Middle East peace and conflict resolution, the advancement of the rights of women and girls, and the philosophy of ‘Ubuntu’ in partnership with a range of international organizations and initiatives.
Mungi has deep operational, programmatic and management consulting experience with start-ups, NGOs and campaigns, with a wide range of experience in writing, strategy, and program and event management. She has a keen interest in interpersonal communication and the effect that has on individuals, teams, their work and their greater impact on humanity. Since bringing the book Everyday Ubuntu into the world, she has returned to advocacy.
Most recently she was Senior Business Operations Manager at Impactive, a digital outreach and engagement tool whose mission is to promote voter participation and civic engagement within progressive and Democratic campaigns and organizations. In this role she was responsible for streamlining and scaling processes for the 2020 U.S. election and supporting a post-2020 rebrand.
Prior to Impactive, she was campaign coordinator for a national and bipartisan campaign, Millions of Conversations, aimed at tackling Islamophobia and discrimination in the U.S. She is passionate about human rights, a woman’s right to choose, protection of refugees, and the liberation of the Palestinian people.
Mungi has a Master's in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. She is currently the Senior Associate at Banff Advisors, a tech-enabled Executive Advisory firm that builds long term relationships with current and future leaders who are passionate about learning, growing, and developing. Her role at Banff is to support Executive Advisors in creating a community of exceptional leaders and talent partners able to thrive together.
